Cases Of Destruction-Fire Of Police Cars In Depok, Polda Metro Hunt Four Other Perpetrators

A total of five perpetrators of vandalism and burning the official car belonging to the Depok Metro Police that occurred in the Harjamukti area, Cimanggis, have been arrested.

However, Polda Metro Jaya is still hunting for the four other people involved in the action.

"Meanwhile, the other 4 suspects are still being chased by the team," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to VOI, Monday, April 21.

In the case of the vandalism and burning of the police official car, nine people were actually named as suspects. The determination is based on the results of the case title that was carried out some time ago.

"Doing a case title by naming 9 suspects," he said.

For the five people who have been arrested, three of them have the initials ASR, LA, and LS. They were arrested on Monday, April 21, early this morning. Meanwhile, the other two perpetrators, namely RS and GR alias AR, were arrested the day before

"Currently, 5 suspects have been arrested," he said

Ade detailed the roles of each perpetrator. The hospital played a role in closing the portal with the intention of obstructing the police officers who brought TS as well as the chairman of a community organization (ormas) suspected of being involved in cases of abuse and possession of illegal firearms.

Finally, LS, who played a role in destroying the car of a police officer from the Depok Police. Currently, they have been detained at the Polda Metro Jaya detention center.

The burning of a police official car that went viral on social media previously drew strong reactions from the public. Videos showing police vehicles were badly damaged and burned in the middle of the road caused anxiety and concerns regarding the escalation of violence in the community.

This incident occurred during the arrest process of the suspect with the initials TS, who was suspected of being involved in the case of mistreatment and possession of illegal firearms, on Friday, April 18. When the Satreskrim team was about to bring the suspect, the masses resisted and surrounded the officers' vehicles. Three of the four police cars were stuck and one of them was targeted to the point of being burned.
