Held An Inspection, North Buton Regent Finds Official Vehicles That Have Not Paid Taxes

JAKARTA - Regent-Deputy Regent (Wabup) of North Buton (Butur) Afirudin Mathara-Rahman conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) of the official vehicle tax belonging to the Butur Regency Government (Pemkab) in Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra).

Rahman said the results of the inspection found that a number of official vehicles did not pay taxes, some of the official vehicles were even damaged.

"The examination aims to check one by one the four-wheeled and two-wheeled service vehicles lined up in the courtyard of the North Buton Bappeda Hall," said Rahman in Buranga, Monday, April 21, as reported by Antara.

He said the results of the inspection of the official vehicle belonging to the North Buton Regency Government would be checked again while waiting for a report from the regional asset manager.

"Many are damaged but we don't know for sure, we will temporarily check the asset sector, we are just waiting for the report," he said.

Rahman explained that apart from being damaged, several vehicles with problems were also found, because the official vehicles moved from one service to another.

"It (which does not pay taxes) because there are no documents. That will be made a statement and then report it to the police, everything has a procedure," explained Rahman.

He also said that currently the North Buton Regency Government is currently collecting data on all official vehicles that are no longer used for official purposes and immediately write letters to be returned to the regions.

"For example, official vehicles used by former regional officials, including official vehicles that were borrowed from the North Buton Police to immediately make and update the minutes," he said.

During the surprise inspection, the Regent and Deputy Regent of North Buton checked one by one the two-wheeled and four-wheeled service vehicles in the Bappeda Butur Hall yard. The inspection aims to ensure that the condition of the official vehicle and control as well as the vehicle is used according to its designation and to improve services to the community.
