JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul responded to the dynamics in the community regarding the proposal of the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia Soeharto to be given the title of national hero. Gus Ipul explained, in embedding the title of national hero, the Ministry of Social Affairs will get input from the governor who previously went through discussions with the regent and mayor.
"Previously the regents and mayors were input from the community through seminars and so on," he said.
In the seminar, regional heads first presented a number of resource persons, ranging from historians to local community leaders to discuss the names proposed to become national heroes.
"After that, the process will go up to the governor, there will be another seminar. After that, it will be up to us," said Gus Ipul.
After that, the Director General of Social Empowerment formed a team, consisting of various stakeholders to discuss proposals from governors throughout Indonesia.
"Well, after that we will finalize it, I will discuss, finalize, we sign, we will send it directly to the Dewan Degree," he said.
