JAKARTA History has always noted that big changes in this country are driven by the strength of youth. From the Youth Pledge to reforms, the spirit of young people becomes the main fuel for social, political movements, to regional development.

However, in the midst of the digital era and the comfort zone that surrounds the current generation, this spirit slowly fades. This is the serious concern of West Jakarta Youth Leader, Umar Abdul Aziz, when holding Halal Bihalal at his residence, Saturday, April 19 in North Meruya, Kembangan, West Jakarta.

The activity which took place in the warm feel of Eid al-Fitr was also attended by officials from various elements, ranging from the West Jakarta and South Jakarta Police, Bareskrim Polri, Danramil, Camat, Lurah, to the Head of the West Jakarta Transportation Service and Satpol PP.

"Thank you to all the main officials and friends who took the time to attend. This is not just a Eid event, but a momentum gathering that brings new enthusiasm to West Jakarta," said Umar in a written statement, Sunday, April 20.

According to Umar, Halal Bihalal is an annual routine activity aimed at strengthening relations between the community, apparatus, and local governments. But more than that, he emphasized the importance of the role of youth in creating a solid, harmonious, and compact area.

"Hopefully this gathering will increase cohesiveness in working in the West Jakarta environment. Not only between the apparatus and the community, but especially between the youths themselves," he said.

Umar invites young people, especially in the West Jakarta area, to reflect on their role in developing the region. He expressed his concern about the loss of ism'' or a sense of belonging to the homeland, which has been the foundation of the spirit of struggle.

Many of us, especially the younger generation, have begun to lose theirism to their homeland. This is our moment to bring home the lostism," Umar said hopefully.

Furthermore, Umar highlighted the phenomenon of youth trapped in a 'comfort zone' and progressive loss of soul. He invited youth to leave behind the wrong efficiency and return to being agents of change.

"Let's keep away the wrong efficiency from us. Youth must return to being the spearhead, not only in discourse, but in concrete action," he said.

In the spirit of Lebaran, Umar also emphasized that friendship is not just a tradition, but part of spiritual values that bring blessings. He hopes that from this moment, a new spirit will be born to build West Jakarta collectively.

"By staying in touch, God willing, we will be given a long life, ease of affairs, and blessings in every step we take," he said.
