The Banten Province Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Service (DKP) demolished the rest of the sea fence in the coastal area of Kohod Village, Pakuhaji District, Tangerang Regency.
Head of DKP Banten Province Eli Susiyanti said the demolition was carried out in an integrated manner with the support of various parties.
Among them are the assistance from the personnel of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR), and the Banten Province Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol-PP).
"We are also collaborating with the Central Government through the Directorate General of PSDKP of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the Tangerang Regency Government, the DPC of the All-Indonesian Fishermen Association (HNSI) of Tangerang Regency, and other related parties," said Eli.
To expedite the demolition, DKP together with DPUPR Banten deployed a standard "long arm" excavator complete with pontoons.
This is done to overcome technical problems in the field, considering that the dismantled marine fence has a strong structure and is difficult to lift manually.
"We also dispatched the Latermoria Patrol Vessel and rubber boats. Meanwhile, the Directorate General of PSDKP also supports operations by providing speedboats, sea riders, and a number of personnel," he said.
Eli said HNSI Tangerang Regency helped the demolition process by lowering five fishing boats, to collect bamboo from the former sea fence so as not to pollute the environment.

He said that until the second day of implementation (17/4), the joint team managed to dismantle the 400-meter-long sea fence. This process is targeted for completion on April 23, 2025.
"Until yesterday the joint team managed to dismantle 400 meters long, we also received support from fishing communities who helped the bamboo collection process, so that bamboo was actually collected in appropriate places and not become garbage at sea," he said.
This demolition is part of the Banten Provincial Government's efforts to preserve coastal areas and support the activities of local fishermen in a sustainable manner.
Eli expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in the effort.
