Police Suspect More Than One Victim Of Patient Obscene Content Doctor In Garut

Garut Resort Police (Polres) continues to investigate the case of an obstetrician who molested his patient in Garut Regency, West Java. The investigation was carried out because it was indicated that the alleged perpetrator's actions were carried out several times and there were many victims.

"We are still investigating, of course with time, and later the victims who will report will re-examine how many victims," said Garut Police Chief AKBP Mochamad Fajar Gemilang during a press conference on the determination of a doctor in an immoral case against a patient at the Garut Police Headquarters, Thursday, April 17, confiscated by Antara.

He said that the Garut Police had currently named a doctor with the initials MSF (33), a Bandung resident, as a suspect in a sexual crime case against a female patient in Garut Regency.

The results of the provisional examination of the suspect, he said, had committed immoral acts against the patient four times, his confession was still being investigated, including the victim.

"From the results of the preliminary examination, the perpetrator only admitted about four times the results of the interim examination," he said.

He emphasized that the deeper examination was to find out how many victims were sexual crimes, then carried out anywhere at the health facility or in other places.

"How many victims have received sexual violence, both in health facilities and outside health facilities," he said.

He revealed that it was known that there were only one patient who had been a victim, but to be willing to give an official report.

The victim who dared to report it, he said, was related to cases of sexual harassment by doctors at his rented house on March 24, 2025, while other patients who were victims had not provided a report.

"There were many victims, but only one person made a written report, there was one more victim, but the person concerned was still not willing to make a police report, so it was still in the form of witness examination," he said.

The Garut Police previously conducted an investigation regarding the distribution of CCTV footage showing allegations of sexual harassment by doctors against patients at a clinic in Garut City.

Garut Police then secured the doctor in the video, then an examination was carried out, and it was found that there had been an incident and other victims until they were finally named suspects.

The police chief appealed to the public who had been victims of sexual harassment and crimes by the doctor to immediately report to the Garut Police so that they could be followed up.

"Other victims should be able to report this to the police," he said.

The chairman of the Garut Regency Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), Dr. Rizki Safaat, stated that his party had followed up on the ethics of the doctor's profession which was allegedly carried out by the doctor with the initials MSF, including the issue of his practice permit in Garut.

The existence of this incident, he said, was that IDI Garut submitted a complete legal process to the police for follow-up according to applicable legal regulations, especially since the act had tarnished the medical profession.

"We express our deep concern and moral support for the victims of this sexual harassment, as well as condemn the disgraceful acts committed by the suspect because they are against humanity, and tarnish the dignity of the medical professional organization," he said.
