BATAM - Sekupang Police Chief, Barelang Police Commissioner Benhur Gultom said the murder of an honorary employee of the Batam City Cipta Karya and Tata Riaung (DCKTR) Office, Riau Islands with the initials HR (29), was planned by the perpetrator with the initials FK (26).

"From the initial examination, there were initial preparations to commit the crime (murder). We will investigate it later, we consider it an act of crime," said Gultom, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 16.

The incident that resulted in the victim's death occurred Monday (14/4) morning at 10.15 WIB, at that time the victim was relaxing behind the Batam City DCKTR Office with two witnesses.

The perpetrator who came to the scene called the victim and slit his throat using a knife that was stored in his pocket. The two witnesses I and witness II who saw the incident shouted, and helped the victim take him to BP Batam Hospital for medical treatment, but the victim's life was not saved.

"When investigators arrived at the scene at 12.00 WIB, the perpetrator was still at the location, we immediately took him to the Sekupang Police and carried out an investigation process," he said.

The middle-ranking police officer explained the chronology of the incident based on information from the perpetrators after an initial examination was carried out. That the perpetrators and victims both work as honorary partners at the Batam City Cipta Karya and Spatial Planning Office.

Victim HR has worked for five years as an honorary, while the perpetrator has only been in the same service for three years as an honorary.

"Between the perpetrator and the victim every day they meet, and according to the information from the perpetrator he often feels hurt because the victim several times said words that hurt him," he said.

According to the perpetrator, it has been almost a year since the perpetrator had been holding back the victim's painful actions. The peak was on the day of the incident behind the Batam City DCKTR Office.

Before the incident, said Gultom, the perpetrator had returned to his boarding house with the aim of preparing to commit the crime.

"Yes, preparations, return to the boarding house to change clothes. From the boarding house to one of the convenience stores in Tiban and buy a 40 cm stainless steel knife, which is very sharp because it is still new and the knife has been put in the bag," said Gultom.

Until now, the investigation is still ongoing, investigators have asked for statements from seven witnesses, including the perpetrator's statement.

According to Gultom, the examination of witnesses is still ongoing, including witnesses who worked with the perpetrator and the victim to dig up information related to the daily relationship between the perpetrator and the victim.

"(Witnesses) will increase again, later we will take (witness testimony) from the room where they work (victims and perpetrators) who are watching there on days, to explore how they have been interacting so far," he said.
