Hasto From Prison: Beware Of Efforts To Take Over PDIP!

Secretary General of PDIP, Hasto Kristyanto asked all cadres to remain loyal to Megawati Soekarnoputri as chairman. Because, there is an effort to take over the party bearing the bateng symbol.

The message was conveyed by Hasto through a letter he wrote from behind bars and was shared by PDIP politician Mohamad Guntur Romli.

"As Secretary General of the PDI-P, Mas Hasto Kristiyanto also left a message to all cadres and members of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, they must show their greatest loyalty to Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri," said Guntur Romli in his statement, Friday, April 11.

However, the letter did not clearly convey the form and party seeking to take over the PDIP. It is only stated that all cadres are asked to be vigilant and careful.

"Stay alert and continue to be careful of efforts to take over the party," said Romli.

On the other hand, Romli also said that during his detention, Hasto lived a more perfect life. His weight dropped due to a healthy lifestyle.

"Mas Hasto Kristiyanto is diligent in fasting and exercising in prison, so he managed to lose weight from 82.5 Kg to 76 Kg. In fact, he was able to fast for 36 hours without eating and drinking," said Romli.

For information, Hasto was charged with obstructing the investigation by ordering Harun, through the Aspiration House guard, Nur Hasan, to submerge Harun's cell phone into the water after the arrests by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) against members of the General Election Commission (KPU) for the 2017-2022 period Wahyu Setiawan.

Not only Harun Masiku's cellphone, Hasto is also said to have ordered his aide, Kusnadi, to drown his cell phone in anticipation of forced attempts by KPK investigators.

In addition to obstructing investigations, Hasto was also charged together with advocate Donny Tri Istiqomah; the former convict of the Harun Masiku case, Saeful Bahri; and Harun Masiku gave money amounting to 57,350 Singapore dollars or equivalent to Rp600 million to Wahyu in the 2019-2020 period.

Money is allegedly given with the aim that Wahyu seeks the KPU to approve an interim replacement (PAW) application for the Elected Legislative Candidate for the Electoral Region (Dapil) of South Sumatra (Sumsel) I on behalf of the Members of the DPR for the 2019-2024 period Riezky Aprilia to Harun Masiku.

Thus, Hasto is threatened with a crime as regulated in Article 21 and Article 5 Paragraph (1) letter a or Article 13 of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 65 Paragraph (1) and Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1 jo. Article 64 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
