TNI-Polri Raided KKB Headquarters In Olenski Papua, 5 People Killed

JAKARTA - TNI soldiers and police personnel who are members of the Nemangkawi Operation Task Force are hunting for the headquarters of the armed criminal group (KKB) in Olenski. Five members of the KKB were reportedly shot dead.

Head of the Nemangkawi Public Relations Task Force Kombes M Iqbal Al Qudussy said that the shootout took place on Monday, April 26 and Tuesday, in the vicinity of the KKB Lumawi headquarters, Makki Village, Ilaga, Puncak Regency, Papua.

"Information was obtained that the five KKB members who were shot dead by the Nemangkawi Task Force came from the Lekagak Telenggen group," Iqbal said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 27.

Iqbal said Lekagak Teleggen was a fugitive who was included in the Papua Police's wanted list (DPO) since last year with the number DPO / 43 / VIII / 2020 / Reskrim Mimika dated August 28, 2020 in the case of holding an SS1 weapon, and shooting at Mile 61 when journey from Arwanop to Tsinga.

The Nemangkawi Operations Task Force, continued Iqbal, raided the KKB headquarters, Monday, April 26 at around 08.00 WIT KB in Olenski.

"Apart from five KKB who were shot dead, but on our side there were victims, one member of the Police Mobile Brigade died on behalf of Bharada Komang," said Iqbal.

Currently, the TNI-Polri, which are members of the Nemangkawi Task Force, are still pursuing criminal groups that have committed criminal acts in the last few weeks.

"There is no place for armed criminal groups in Papua or in all corners of the country," said Iqbal.

This armed criminal group previously shot the head of the Papua Regional State Intelligence Agency (Kabinda), Brigadier General TNI Putu Danny, in Dambet Village, Beoga District, Puncak Regency.

The KKB also shot OAP teachers and students, burned school facilities and raped village girls, extorted village funds and burned "honai" tribal chiefs in Beoga.
