Meeting In The Midst Of The Lebaran Atmosphere, Prabowo And Megawati Discuss Global Issues To The People's Fate

PDI-P (PDIP) politician Guntur Romli said its general chairman, Megawati Soekarnoputri and President Prabowo Subianto discussed several things in a closed meeting held on Monday night, April 7. Among them are related to the United States-China trade war to the issue of climate change.

The meeting was held at Megawati's residence on Jalan Teuku Umar, Menteng, South Jakarta. Guntur initially said the two political figures had a conversation for 1.5 hours.

"In the meeting of only four eyes, Mrs. Megawati and Mr. Prabowo talked a lot about personal matters as two national figures who have been good friends since the past until now," said Guntur in a written statement to the media, Tuesday night, April 8.

"Mrs. Megawati and President Prabowo held one-on-one talks for about 1.5 hours," he continued.

Then, the two also discussed global issues. Such as the US and Chinese trade wars, the Israeli conflict with Arab countries, the Russia-Ukraine war, information in the South China Sea and global warming as well as its impact on the people, nation and state of Indonesia," said Guntur.

Then the national strategic problem was also discussed by the two, Guntur said. This discussion was not detailed further but everything was confirmed for the safety and welfare of the people.

"President Prabowo and Mrs. Megawati are committed to continuing to establish communication and coordination, especially when it comes to national and international strategic interests that will have an impact on the fate of the people and the future of the Indonesian nation and state," he said.

As previously reported, the Daily Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, revealed the contents of President Prabowo Subianto's meeting with the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia as well as the General Chair of the PDIP, Megawati Soekarnoputri on Jalan Teuku Umar, Menteng, Central Jakarta on Monday, April 7. Both are said to be discussing national issues.

"I don't know exactly, but what is certain is to talk about Indonesia's future and how togetherness is to build Indonesia in the future," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 8, evening.

The deputy chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives said that the Prabowo-Megawati meeting was warm and was familiar with the moment of Eid al-Fitr. The photo of the meeting was even uploaded by Dasco on his social media and Prabowo and Megawati were seen smiling at each other.

"Yes, last night, Pak Prabowo and Mrs. Megawati were in a good and friendly relationship. So yes, last night's meeting was a family, friendly and warm meeting," said Dasco.

"So it didn't feel like the time was going on for quite a long time last night and a lot was discussed by these two figures," he continued.
