Munarman Arrested By Densus 88 In Connection With The Accused Of Terrorists In Makassar

JAKARTA - The National Police said the arrest of lawyer Rizieq Shihab Munarman was related to the allegation of a suspected terrorist in Makassar, South Sulawesi. Densus 88 then picked up Munarman and at the same time ransacked the house in Petamburan, Jakarta.

"So it is related to the allegation case at UIN Jakarta, the allegation case in Makassar and following the allegiance in Medan. So there are three things, "said Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Tuesday, April 27.

Munarman was arrested by Densus 88 at his house in the Modern Hills Pamulang housing complex, South Tangerang at around 15.00 WIB.

Currently Munarman is being taken to Polda Metro Jaya for intensive examination. The Densus 88 / Anti-terror team is now ransacking a house in the Petamburan area that was once the headquarters of the FPI.

“No (there is resistance). Cooperative, ”said Kombes Ramadhan.

In early February 2021, a video was circulated on social media of the testimony of a member of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) and a suspected terrorist named Ahmad Aulia.

Based on the video uploaded by the @sahaL_AS twitter account, the man decided to pledge allegiance to FPI along with hundreds of other sympathizers.

"I took pledge at that time together with a hundred members of the FPI confinement and army. At the FPI Makassar headquarters on the limboto river road, Makassar," the man was quoted as saying on the @sahaL_AS account, Thursday, February 4.

In addition, at the time the man took a pledge was attended by former FPI General Secretary Munarman. Then, in the baiat process it was led by two religious leaders.

"I took pledge to be attended by Munarman as the central FPI committee at that time. Ustad Fauzan and Ustad Basri who led the allegiance at that time," he said.
