After The Meeting, PDIP And PKS Agree On Cooperation

JAKARTA - PDI-P and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) have agreed to cooperate. The two opposing parties will work together and together to face the crisis caused by the pandemic.

"We agree that we have to build cooperation in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This situation should encourage all of us to work together," said PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto in a written statement after meeting with the PKS DPP, Tuesday, April 27.

Hasto said the COVID-19 pandemic had a serious impact on the people's economy at the grassroots. PDIP itself continues to monitor the situation at the grassroots community level.

Every day, on the orders of General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri, regional administrators are required to send reports on the social conditions of the community in their respective regions. "That is a form of our commitment. Every day our management is obliged to send a COVID report to Ibu Mega," he said.

Meanwhile, the head of the PDIP faction, Utut Adianto, said that his party was ready to cooperate with PKS, especially through discussion of various public issues at the DPR.

"If PKS is ready to cooperate with the PDI-P for the people, we agree. We can look for a mechanism," said Utut, who is also the Deputy Chief of PDIP. Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the DPP PKS, Habib Aboebakar Al Habsyi, said that his party felt there were many meeting points that could be collaborated with the PDIP. . Moreover, many PKS officials also admired President Soekarno's leadership.

"We really admire Bung Karno's leadership. The head of the faction came specifically to Imam Bukhori's grave. If we hear the story about the mosque there, we are also amazed. We also describe and imitate his leadership," said Habib Aboebakar.

According to him, cooperation with PDIP, one of which concerns the COVID-19 case and efforts to recover from conditions affected by the pandemic. "This is a tough challenge. But we also don't want to be like what happened in India," he said.

At present, his party sees the COVID-19 pandemic situation as very worrying and scary. Many confirmed increases have led to positives and cases of death.

"So it is not playing games. As a political party, we are pushing for policies to accelerate the handling of the pandemic. Therefore we support the acceleration of vaccination," said Habib Aboebakar.

PKS also supports the government to increase vaccine production by Biofarma as well as research on its own vaccines such as the Red and White Vaccine and the Nusantara Vaccine.

Apart from that, PKS also encourages the role of the state to ease the economic burden of society through tax incentive programs. From income tax incentives, to reduction or termination of tax on two-wheeled vehicles.

For him, the concerns of the two parties could be followed up with a joint political push in the parliament.

"Many of our interests are the same which can be carried out in factions, there are many bills that we can have a common ground. This cooperation is quite good, and we can continue," he concluded.
