Many Have Go Home, DKI Transportation Agency Predicts That The Peak Of Homecoming On March 28 Will Not Be Extreme

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that many Jakartans have started leaving for their hometowns to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1446 H since a few days ago.

This is because school holidays have started and some employees are allowed to work anywhere or work from anywhere (WFA).

"Since yesterday 22 until today, many people have gone home," Syafrin told reporters, Wednesday, March 26.

Thus, Syafrin predicts that the peak of the homecoming flow which will fall on March 28 or at the beginning of collective leave will not cause the impact of extreme congestion.

"We hope that the projected 28th will not occur drastically because it has been distributed normally," said Syafrin.

Syafrin also revealed that the flow of passenger departures and arrivals at the Jakarta bus terminal, both the main terminal and the assistant, began to increase significantly on D-7 Eid al-Fitr or Monday, March 24.

"Based on monitoring on March 24, 2025, there was an increase in passenger flow by 35.40 percent compared to normal days," he said.

In the top 4 terminals, the increase in the number of passengers reached 24.06 percent. Among them are Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal, Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Kalideres Terminal, and Tanjung Priok Terminal.

Meanwhile, at the aid terminal, namely Lebak Bulus Terminal, Angke Terminal, and Grogol Terminal, the increase in passengers reached 261.12 percent.

Then on Tuesday, March 25 to 08.00 WIB, the number of passengers departing from 7 main terminals and assistants reached 28,199 and 12,560 arrived.

"The increase in the number of passengers shows that Jakarta residents have traveled back to their hometowns," said Syafrin.

Furthermore, Syafrin said that there were 2,848 intercity inter-provincial (AKAP) buses prepared to take travelers to their hometowns this year.

"For the Lebaran holiday in 2025, the AKAP bus fleet, which was prepared as many as 2,846 units, involved 428 AKAP transportation operators," he said.
