RSKK Treats Burns Patients Due To Firecracker Explosion

KEDIRI - Kediri Regency Hospital (RSKK) in Kediri Regency, East Java treated patients who suffered injuries due to explosions of firecrackers.

Deputy Director of RSKK Services, Binti Ratna Khomsiyatin said the victim was named Anton Nugroho (33), a resident of Pujomarto Hamlet, Ketawang Village, Purwoasri District, Kediri Regency. Currently, he is still being treated intensively due to his injuries.

"The condition of the patient from the medical side cannot be declared light, because the burns are quite extensive. Information from the doctor on duty who examined the burns were 68.5 percent grade 2," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 24.

He explained that the grade 2 burns did not only hit the outermost layer of the skin tissue, but were already below, so they needed intensive care.

"Not only the outer layer but below it so that intensive care. Due to burns, if not treated properly, the previous grade 2 could be grade 3," he said.

He said the victim suffered injuries to several parts of his body, such as the face, right thigh, chest, and other body parts. However, what is quite severe on the face requires intensive treatment.

His party also revealed that the current respiratory tract of the victim was rather fast, but in general, the airways were still good.

"The patient is aware that his condition is generally good, fluid replacement has been carried out, because burns need to be replaced with fluids. This is grade 2, for example, if there are no complications for three weeks, there will be improvements," he said.

Meanwhile, the head of Pujomarto Hamlet, Kaspur said the explosion incident on Sunday (23/3) night at around 22.00 WIB. At that time there was a loud sound from his house,

He said the victim was with his wife and children. The victim was injured and taken to the hospital, while his wife and children were okay.

"There are three people at home, with the victim. The wife and child are okay. If it's firecrackers, why don't we know," he said.

He said that so far it was known that the victim did not sell firecrackers. It is possible that firecrackers were made to be turned on during Eid al-Fitr 2025.

Currently, the victim's house is still being given a police line. The house measuring 20x7 square meters was badly damaged. The roof was destroyed and the roof collapsed, while the wall was also damaged.

Residents are also advised not to approach the location, it is feared that there will be danger.
