BMKG Warns Potential For Extreme Weather In Central Java During Eid Al-Fitr 2025 Homecoming

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reminded the public of the potential for extreme weather that is expected to occur in the Central Java region during the peak of the 2025 Eid homecoming flow.

Head of BMKG Meteorological Station Ahmad Yani Semarang, Yoga Sambodo, said that the extreme weather was likely to occur in the period 26 to 30 March 2025.

"Be aware of the extreme weather increase that is predicted to occur on that date," said Ahmad Yani, quoting ANTARA, Monday, March 24.

According to Yoga, almost all areas of Central Java have the potential to experience moderate to heavy rain. Rain generally falls during the afternoon to evening and lasts for two to three hours.

Yoga appealed to travelers to update weather information regularly through the Digital Weather for Traffic service available on the official BMKG website. The application provides weather forecast information along land routes in Central Java with an accuracy of around 90 percent and predictions for the next seven days.

"If there is a change in the weather, the latest information will be immediately submitted through the application," he added.

Yoga also reminded that even though Central Java has entered the transition season from rain to dryness, the potential for extreme weather can still occur during the transition period. Therefore, he appealed to travelers to take advantage of the BMKG application so that they can plan trips safely and comfortably.
