JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipikor) of the National Police is investigating the alleged riot that occurred at PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) Persero.

Wakakortas Tipikor Polri, Brigadier General Arief Adiharsa, who was confirmed regarding the investigation into the alleged corruption, agreed. It is said that the case is still under investigation.

"It's still in the investigation stage," Arief told reporters, quoted on Saturday, March 22.

However, it was not clearly conveyed about the alleged corruption at PT PLN Persero. It is only known if the deepening process will begin in February 2025.

Allegedly, the alleged corruption that is being investigated is related to the Steam Power Plant (PLTU) project in West Kalimantan which has been stalled since 2016. The project is suspected of having earned state losses of IDR 1.2 trillion.

Meanwhile, one of the independent Commissioners of PLN, Andi Arief uploaded a statement on his personal X account @Andiarief__ who said that PLN must have been cooperative during the investigation period.

"Tipikor Polri is reportedly investigating a case at PT PLN. Although he doesn't know exactly what case, what year, and how much loss his country has, PLN must be cooperative," said Andi Arief in his personal X account.
