JAKARTA - The Lubuk Attitude Detention Center moved as many as seven prisoners (WBP) to Padang Prison, West Sumatra (West Sumatra).
Head of the Lubuk Attitude Detention Center, Resman Hanafi, said the transfer was carried out to reduce the number of inmates who had exceeded their capacity or overloaded.

The transfer, he said, was carried out based on the Letter of the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections of West Sumatra Number WP.3.PK.03.02-38 dated March 17, 2025, regarding the approval of the transfer of prisoners from the Class II B Rutan Lubuk Attitude to the Class II A Padang Prison.
"Seven inmates are WBP drug cases with a high sentence. Two of them are with a life sentence," he said.

He explained that the transfer of WBP was an effort by the Class II B Lubuk Attitude Detention Center in supporting the acceleration program of the Minister of Immigration and Corrections which focused on overcoming overcapacity problems with comprehensive solutions.
"The transfer of WBP was carried out under strict supervision by officers. Supported by escort from Pasaman Resort Police personnel as a form of synergy between Class II B Lubuk Attitudes in maintaining security and smooth movement activities of WBP," he said.
