SEMARANG - Semarang prison officer, Central Java, secured cell phones (cell phones) to sharp weapons (sajam) in a joint raid involving the police, TNI, and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).

Head of Semarang Prison Mardi Santoso said the raids on inmates and rooms in two residential blocks were carried out. It is said that the inspection was carried out in rooms and belongings of the inmates.

"The implementation of the raid is humane and still respects the rights of the inmates," he said in Semarang, Antara, Friday, March 21.

In addition to cell phones and sharp weapons, officers also secured various other electronic items such as fans, cables, water heaters, and cell phone chargers.

Mardi said the joint raid was part of the implementation of the instructions of the Minister of Immigration and Corrections in an effort to create a prison that was conducive and clean of prohibited items.

He explained that the involvement of law enforcement officers in the raid was a form of collaboration and significant support for order efforts in prisons.

"We hope that collaboration in the implementation of prison residential raids can continue in the future," he said.

Thus, he continued, a safe, orderly, and free correctional environment will be created from the circulation of prohibited goods.
