The Manggala Police have arrested a worker named M Rais (29) who broke into a businessman's house from Papua by taking away 125 grams of gold in the safe of the victim's room, Toa Daeng Street, Manggala District, Makassar, South Sulawesi.

"So, Alhamdulillah, from CCTV that was secured by members in the field, they quickly examined and took evidence and witness statements. We moved quickly to secure the perpetrators," he said.

In accordance with the perpetrator's statement, some of the gold has been sold for about 25 grams to pay debts and play online gambling. While the remaining 100 grams were placed in Makassar and Jeneponto.

"The gold has been distributed (shared). Some were placed at a relative's house in Jeneponto, some in his (Makassar city) house of approximately 25 grams (sold). Because we haven't found the remaining 100 grams, we have finally secured the results of the interrogation of the goods," he said.

The perpetrator is an interior craftsman while working at the victim's house who is a contractor from Papua and is very aware of the condition of his house. Iqmal said, according to the information from the perpetrator he was in debt and had already been billed by a borrower, and was addicted to online gambling.

After being arrested, the perpetrator was taken to the Manggala Police Station to account for his actions.
