Flooded Victims In Palembang Live In Sawah, Camat Conduct Evacuation

JAKARTA - A flood victim in the Gandus area, Palembang, lives in a rice field evacuated by the local sub-district head based on orders from the Mayor of Palembang, Ratu Dewa.

"Based on instructions from the Mayor of Palembang, Mr. Ratu Dewa, today we evacuated our residents, namely Mr. Herman, who had to live in a rice field area," said Head of Sub-district, Gandus Jufrizal, confirmed in Palembang, Wednesday, March 19, which was confiscated by Antara.

He explained that his party received reports from the public that there were residents who were trapped in the flood. Then his party immediately visited the family and found an alarming condition.

"We confirmed to the RT, it turns out that Mr. Herman's family has also been tricked into house matters, resulting in him and his family having to stay in other people's fields," he said.

He added that his party communicated with the owner of the rice field, namely Edi, to be willing to donate some of the rice fields to the victims.

His party will assist in the process of making a letter of land recognition so that it can be proposed to obtain a house renovation program.

In addition, his party also distributed a sum of compensation money and food packages, then invited the Puskesmas team to check the health of the victims and provide medicines.

There was also assistance in the form of blankets, ready-to-eat food, beds from the Palembang Social Service, and he also thanked PBK Palembang for helping using rubber boats to evacuate victims.
