Police Map 3 Homecoming Prone Path Points In NTB, Including Trans Sumbawa Road

NTB - Police appealed to travelers crossing West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to increase vigilance considering that there are several accident-prone points on the homecoming route in the province.

Deputy Director of Traffic (Wadirlantas) of the NTB Police AKBP Leo Dedy Defretes said there are three most prone points for accidents in NTB, including the West-Central Lombok Bypass Road, East Lombok Cross Road and Trans Sumbawa Road.

"Usually on the bypass route, motorists often suppress driving vehicles to speed up, now accidents often occur there. The fatality rate is quite high, the victim died there," he said in NTB, Tuesday, March 18, which was confiscated by Antara.

He mentioned that before securing this Eid, there were already 10 victims who died at the three points, based on data from security operations.

"If you look at last year, there has indeed been a decline. But that's a note from the security operation. If the ketupat operation cannot be compared, whether it goes up or down, but if you look at the security operation, it will go down," explained Leo.

To anticipate accidents or congestion during this year's Eid homecoming flow, the NTB Police, said Leo, have taken a number of anticipatory steps. One of them is alerting personnel and establishing integrated service posts and security posts.

"For the number of personnel on standby and the post being built is still under discussion of preparations for the Ketupat 2025 operation," he said.

Therefore, to avoid accidents, his party urges motorists who cross the homecoming route to be extra vigilant and careful when driving.

"This appeal is not only for vehicle or bus drivers but for two-wheeled drivers, because this is now quite dominating when going home. Reduce speed, if you are tired, stop at integrated service posts, security posts," he said.
