Mbak Ita And Husband's Corruption Case Investigation Completed, Files Transferred To Prosecutors

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has completed an investigation into allegations of corruption in the Semarang City Government that ensnared former Semarang Mayor Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu alias Mbak Ita and her husband, Alwin Basri as Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD.

Their files were submitted to the prosecutor today, Monday, March 17. This process was discovered after Mbak Ita and her husband underwent an examination at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"There has been an activity of transferring the suspect and evidence or stage two," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters in a written statement, Monday, March 17.

Apart from Mbak Ita and her husband, the transfer of files was also carried out on two other people. They are Martono and Rachmat Utama Djangkar who are private parties.

After this delegation, the prosecutor has 14 days to prepare the indictment. Then, all files will be transferred to the Corruption Court so that the trial can be carried out immediately.

As previously reported, the KPK has detained the Mayor of Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu or Mbak Ita and her husband, Alwin Basri, who is also the Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD on Wednesday, February 20. There were three cases handled by the anti-corruption commission, first related to the project for procuring an SD fabrication seat at the Semarang City Education Office.

In this procurement, Mbak Ita and her husband pocketed Rp 1.7 billion. Then, this pair earned Rp2 billion from the management of the direct appointment project at the sub-district level.

Finally, Mbak Ita and Alwin pocketed IDR 2.4 billion from the request for money from the Semarang City Bapenda. So that if the total of the two pocketed money of around IDR 6 billion.

The KPK also named two other suspects in this case. They are Martono who is the Chairman of the Association of Indonesian National Construction Implementers (Gappensi) of Semarang City and Rachmat Djangkar as the private party who had already been detained.
