JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion announced that professional allowances for 120,067 teachers and supervisors of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in schools will be disbursed before Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri/2025 AD.
Director General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religion Suyitno said the government had prepared a budget of more than IDR 828.1 billion to support the disbursement of allowances for the past two months, January and February 2025.
"This professional allowance is a form of state appreciation for the dedication of teachers who have dedicated their time, energy, and thoughts to educate the nation's children at school," Suyitno said in a statement in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, March 16.
Suyitno said improving the quality of education was one of President Prabowo Subianto's Astacita and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Minister of Religion, Nassarudin Umar, also underlined the importance of improving the welfare of teachers who already have educator certificates and are committed to educating and shaping the character of students in schools.
"According to the direction of the Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar, we want their welfare to be maintained, so that they can focus more on carrying out their noble duties," said Suyitno.
According to him, the disbursement of professional allowances is carried out according to the stages and after verification of the required documents has been fulfilled.
This professional allowance will be given to PAI teachers and supervisors who meet a number of requirements. Among other things, being active as a PAI teacher or supervisor registered in the SIAGA PAI application, having Teacher Registration Number (NRG), and fulfilling the workload as stipulated in the Director General of Pendis No. 697 of 2025.
Director of Islamic Religious Education of the Ministry of Religion M. Munir said that the recipients of this professional allowance are PAI teachers and supervisors, both ASN (PNS and PPPK) and not ASN.
In addition to the teachers appointed by the Ministry of Religion, most of them were appointed PAI teachers who were appointed by the local government.
"We make sure that all PAI teachers and supervisors at schools, both those appointed by the Ministry of Religion and local governments, pay their professional allowances," he said.
The amount of allowances received by each teacher is adjusted to applicable regulations.
