The City Of Palangkaraya To Sorong Has Not Been Approved By Minister Of Health Terawan For PSBB

JAKARTA - A number of provinces and cities are proposing Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Unfortunately, not all areas have been approved by Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto to implement the PSBB.

The cities of Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan and the City of Sorong in West Papua have not been allowed to enforce PSBB regulations in their territories. In his written statement, these cities have not met the criteria for the PSBB determination area.

"The PSBB in Palangkaraya cannot be implemented because the region has not met the criteria for determining the PSBB," said Terawan, as quoted by VOI in his written statement, Monday, April 13.

Similar to Palangkaraya, Terawan also did not grant the Sorong Mayor's request to determine the PSBB. Based on an epidemiological study conducted by the technical team, the City of Sorong also has not met the criteria in PP Number 21 of 2010 and Permenkes Number 9 of 2020 concerning Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB).

The criteria that must be met by the government in proposing the PSBB are the number of cases and / or the number of deaths due to the disease increasing and spreading significantly and rapidly to several regions and there is an epidemiological link with similar incidents in other regions or countries.

Apart from these two conditions, the determination of the PSBB must also consider the readiness of the region in social, economic and other aspects.

Regarding the absence of permission to implement the PSBB in the two regions, Doni Monardo, head of the Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Team, said that those who were not allowed to carry out the PSBB did not mean that they were immediately rejected.

Given, until now no regions have been refused submissions, but only files are returned for revision of requirements.

"There has been no rejection yet but we are asking to complete the requirements because some regions have very minimal requirements," said Doni in a press conference in Jakarta, Monday, April 13.

He then gave an example, there was an area that had proposed the PSBB. It's just that the submission must be corrected and added because the budget submitted is not in accordance with operational costs when the status is implemented.

Even though there are a number of areas that have not been granted permits, Doni then explained that currently there are already enough areas that have obtained permits to carry out the PSBB. Among them are the Banten region which consists of South Tangerang City, Tangerang City and Tangerang Regency.

Then there are also Pekanbaru City, Bogor City and Regency, Depok City, Bekasi City and Regency. "Now there are several other proposals that are not rejected but we ask for them to be refined," he said.
