JAKARTA - The Head of the Propam Police Division, Inspector General Pol. Abdul Karim emphasized that the National Police would not tolerate the actions of the former Ngada Police Chief AKBP Fajar Widyadharma Lukman Sumaatmaja (FWLS) which damaged public trust.

This commitment was demonstrated by the police by naming FWLS as a suspect in the alleged immoral case and drug use and removing the person concerned from his position as the Ngada Police Chief.

"This case shows that we will not provide space for members involved in criminal acts, especially those related to crimes against vulnerable people, namely women and children. We are fully responsible for maintaining the good image of the police," he said in a statement received Friday, March 14.

Taking firm steps against FWLS, he said, is the commitment of the National Police leadership in ensuring that every person who violates the law will be faced with a fair and transparent legal process.

"We are committed to enforcing the law indiscriminately and will continue to improve the quality of supervision and internal control to prevent similar incidents in the future," he asserted.

The two-star general also hopes that the public can continue to trust the Police even though there are people who damage the image.

"We will continue to strive to maintain the quality of service and ensure that every action we take is always oriented to justice and the public interest," he said.

Previously, at a press conference on Thursday, March 13, the Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Pol. Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko said that FWLS was suspected of violating the Police Professional Code of Ethics (KEPP) due to his actions.

"With the form of acts of sexual harassment against minors and sexual intercourse or adultery without legal marriage ties, drug consumption, and recording, storing, uploading, and distributing videos of sexual harassment against minors," he said.

FWLS juga diduga merekam perbuatan seksualnya dan mengunggah video tersebut ke situs atau forum pornografi anak di web dark (darkweb). Polri masih mendalami motif yang bersangkutan melakukan perbuatan tersebut.

Meanwhile, regarding drugs, Trunoyudo said that based on the initial examination, FWLS was proven to be a drug user. However, the police will still explore further regarding the continuation.

The National Police's Propam Division will hold an ethics trial against FWLS on Monday, March 17.
