Pramono Regarding Land Acquisition For Ciliwung Normalization: We Will Not Carry Out Evictions

Pramono said he prioritized a humane approach to residents affected by land acquisition for the widening of the Ciliwung River.

"In carrying out this normalization, we will really approach the citizens humanely. And we have the principle that we will not carry out evictions," said Pramono, Friday, March 14.

The former Cabinet Secretary assessed that if Ciliwung's normalization was completed, it would reduce the impact of Jakarta's floods by 40 percent.

"If that can be done, 40 percent of the potential for flooding in Jakarta will be handled properly," said Pramono.

On Thursday, March 13, Pramono attended a coordination meeting with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) and the Ministry of Public Works (PU) to deal with Jakarta floods.

Minister of ATR/Head of BPN Nusron Wahid said the central government would assist the DKI Provincial Government in land acquisition for the normalization of the 16 km Ciliwung River from Pengadegan to Rawajati.

The total land acquisition area is about 11 hectares or 16 km along the Ciliwung River.

"Kita sudah buat timeframe untuk pengadaan tanahnya dan skema-skema sertifikasinya tadi sudah kita bahas," ungkap Nusron.

Nusron menargetkan pengadaan tanah selesai pada akhir Mei, sehingga pembangunan fisik dapat dimulai pada awal Juni 2025. Sehingga, diharapkan perekonomian masyarakat yang akibat dampak banjir bisa diminimalisasi.
