Category Of Elderly In Mukomuko Sick And Weak, Vaccination Continued After Lebaran

JAKARTA - The Health Office of Mukomuko District, Bengkulu Province, stated that it would continue the COVID-19 vaccination for elderly people after Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijriah or Lebaran.

"We are categorized as elderly, some are sick and weak compared to the elderly in Java, if we vaccinate in a weak condition, the elderly in our area can get sick," said the Head of the Mukomuko Desriani District Health Office in Mukomuko, reported by Antara, Sunday, 25 April.

He said this was a follow-up on the results of the local government coordination meeting with the COVID-19 Handling Task Force in the context of handling COVID-19 in this area.

Nevertheless, he said, his party would still provide health services to elderly citizens who were willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination during the fasting month this year.

"If there are elderly people who want to receive COVID-19 vaccination during this fasting month, we may propose vaccination for these seniors," he said.

He said, until now, only 69 elderly residents spread across a number of these areas had received the COVID-19 vaccination in the hall of the Health Service.

He stated that his party is targeting 60 percent of the total number of elderly people in this area to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, but after Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijriah.

Meanwhile, this area received as many as 310 vials of Sinovac vaccine for 1,550 public service officers such as members of the TNI, Polri and elderly residents who are scattered in this area.

Of the 1,550 people, he said, 147 of them were members of the TNI, 303 were from the Police and then for elderly residents in this area.

He stated, although the number of COVID-19 phase II vaccines for the elderly in this area is excessive, the excess vaccines can be used for other public service workers.
