Discussing The People's School Program, A Number Of Ministers Were Summoned By Prabowo To The Palace

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto summoned several of his ministers to the Indonesian Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday, March 10. The summons was made to discuss the People's School program.

This was confirmed by the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (PM) Muhaimin Iskandar who was one of the parties summoned to be involved in this meeting.

The ministers who were present apart from the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Pratikno, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo, and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian.

Also present were Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Brian Yuliarto, and Head of the Central Statistics Agency Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti.

According to Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, who is familiarly called Gus Ipul, people's schools will be built through a collaborative mechanism.

"Yes, the curriculum that will help is the Ministry of Education and Technology, then for the procurement of Dikdasmen teachers, Prof. Muti. For facilities and infrastructure later, which will help, of course, PU. So, we ask for help from various ministries. This means joint work to translate the President's ideas," said Gus Ipul.

Regarding the People's School program, the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has prepared centers and halls under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Affairs to become locations for the establishment of public schools.

To ensure the readiness of the Ministry of Social Affairs' center, Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya and Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf and Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo reviewed the readiness of the Bekasi Pangudi Luhur Integrated Center (STPL) which will be one of the locations for the establishment of public schools.

"Well, this is one of the places that will be used as a public school. Part of the Pangudi Luhur Center, the assets are the Ministry of Social Affairs," said the Minister of Social Affairs in a written statement in Jakarta on Saturday, March 8.
