Pretrial Hasto Kandas After Judge Decides To Drop Lawsuit

JAKARTA - The sole judge of the South Jakarta District Court, Afrizal Hady, has decided to file a pretrial hearing filed by the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto regarding the validity of his determination as a suspect in the alleged bribery case of interim replacement (PAW) members of the DPR.

The pretrial lawsuit was declared null and void because the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had transferred its main case to the Central Jakarta District Court. In fact, the inaugural trial will be held this week.

"Declare that the petitioner's application is dead," said Judge Afrizal Hady during a trial at the Central Jakarta District Court, Monday, March 10.

With the cancellation of this bribery pretrial, the determination of the KPK suspect to Hasto Kristiyanto remains valid and the legal process continues.

Meanwhile, the first trial of the alleged bribery case for interim replacement (PAW) members of the DPR and the obstruction of the investigation will take place at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Friday, March 14.

The trial with the agenda of reading the da'wah will be held in the courtroom of Prof. Dr. H. Muhammad Hatta, at around 09.00 WIB.

The KPK deployed 12 Public Prosecutors (JPU) in the judicial process of the case. The deployment of dozens of prosecutors is stated in the Case Investigation Information System (SIPP) data of the Central Jakarta District Court.

Some of the names of the prosecutors assigned to the judicial process include Surya Dharma Tanjung, Rio Frandy, Wawan Yunarwanto, and Greafik Loerte.

As a reminder, Hasto Kristiyanto is known to have been named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the alleged bribery case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku.

Not only Hasto, the KPK also named Donny Tri Istiqomah, who is a PDIP cadre and a lawyer as a suspect.

In the development of case handling, Hasto is also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the hand arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.
