BNN: Circulation Of Drug Money Reaches IDR 524 Trillion Per Year

PANGKALPINANG - Head of BNN Komjen Mathinus Hukom said the circulation of drug transactions in Indonesia reached Rp524 trillion per year, so synergy was needed to eradicate the circulation and abuse of illegal goods.

"We calculate that the money to buy drugs reaches Rp524 trillion per year," said Komjen Mathinus Hukom when opening the Implementation of the P4GN Program for the Babel Islands Province in Pangkalpinang, Wednesday, March 5, as reported by ANTARA.

He said this Rp524 trillion was so much used to buy drugs and they did things that were in vain by not carrying out their religious obligations, social, milk to their children, paying their children's school fees and others.

"These drug users do not carry out their obligations, but prefer to buy these drugs," he said.

He stated that the circulation of Rp524 trillion was not only limited to that, but these drug dealers could buy officials and law enforcers to facilitate the circulation of this illicit item.

"This so much money can buy anyone, it can buy me who stands here and what if I don't have the strong to prevent and ward off this attack," he said.

According to him, these dealers use various methods to buy these law enforcers, it is possible to give the illicit money to the brothers and parents of law enforcers in the village.

"This has happened and this is my own experience in 2011 where the Head of the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency who appointed me as the director of intelligence and profit did not happen, because once these dealers heard that they would be appointed as intelligence directors, they sent envelopes of money to parents in the village and I asked my parents to throw the envelope of money to the beach," he said.
