Jabodetabek Flood, Korpolairud Deploys Additional Personnel

JAKARTA - Korpolairud Baharkam Polri will deploy more personnel to assist the evacuation process of the people who are still at the flood point in the Jabodetabek area.

So far, as many as 200 personnel have been deployed at eight flood points including Jati Rasa Housing, Jati Asih, Pondok Gede Permai, Kebon Pala.

"We from Polairud, from the incident we have deployed about 200 people (personnel) divided into 8 points," said Kakorpolairud Inspector General Yassin Kosasih to reporters, Wednesday, March 5.

The addition of personnel deployed because based on the results of air monitoring, there are still many areas that are submerged in water. For example, the Pondok Ungu and Babelan areas whose conditions are said to be very worrying.

"There were less personnel there so that the Babelan area would later be our priority to deploy personnel and equipment because it was seen that many houses were still submerged," he said.

Not only additional personnel, but the Polairud Corps will also deploy safety equipment such as life jackets and others. Thus, the process of evacuating people who are still trapped at the flood point can run smoothly.

"It is also equipped with equipment after that, life jackets and other SAR equipment to help residents who are still affected by this flood," said Yassin.

On the other hand, it is said that these steps are carried out solely to ensure that flood victims can be handled properly and quickly. So, at least it can reduce their burden.

"We are sorry for the flood disaster that occurred in the Jabodetabek area so that the people affected by the disaster will be given strength, so that they can face this flood disaster, especially in this holy month of Ramadan," we Yassin.
