Riau BKSDA Arrests 6 Perpetrators Of The Murder Of The Sumatran Tiger

PeKANBARU - Riau's Center for Conservation and Natural Resources (BBKSDA) arrested six people involved in the murder of a Sumatran tiger in Tibanwan Village, Rokan IV Koto District, Rokan Hulu Regency.

The head of the Riau BBKSDA, Genman Hasibuan, explained that his party received information regarding the existence of an entangled Sumatran tiger. His party prepared equipment and equipment for evacuation and arrived in Tibanwan Village on Monday at 07.00 WIB.

"When they arrived at the location, the Sumatran tiger was no longer found, then the team searched the location of the crime scene and found signs of a broken snared rope. And there were traces of sharp weapons stabs on branches around the location and bamboo along five meters and spots or blood droplets," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 3.

From these very odd findings, a joint discussion was held between the Rokan IV Koto Sector Police and the local Military Rayon Commander and the Arsari Foundation at the Village Office.

Furthermore, information was obtained that there were several community members who approached the location of the entangled tiger on Sunday (2/3).

Based on the results of the development of the information, three people suspected of being the perpetrators were arrested with the initials Rz (32), Sn (58), Lp (30).

From them, information was obtained that the Sumatran tiger had been killed and transported by car to outside the village.

Based on the statements of the three people, the joint team developed information to obtain evidence related to the HS animal hidden.

The team found again two new perpetrators with the initials Zt (54) Em (38) who were skinning a tiger in Cipang Kiri Village about 20 km from the location of the snare.

"One person with the initials En (60), who is suspected of being the perpetrator behind this act, has been secured to the Rokan IV Koto Police, so that the number of people suspected of being the perpetrators has been secured to the Rokan IV Koto Police Station as many as six people," he said.

In addition, evidence was also secured in the form of machetes, snares, bones, skin and meat of HS animals, cell phones, and a car used to transport HS carcasses by the suspect.
