The Sukabumi City Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) is investigating a case of alleged sexual abuse or harassment committed by an employee of the Sukabumi District Court (PN) against a student of the Faculty of Law, University of Nusa Putra (UNP) Sukabumi.

"This investigation was carried out after the victim with the initials VM (21), a resident of Cikembar District, Sukabumi Regency, reported the incident with the report number LP/B/121/II/2025/SPKT/Sabumi City/West Java Police on Friday, February 28," said Head of Public Relations of the Sukabumi City Police, AKP Astuti Setyaningsih, quoted from ANTARA, Monday, March 3.

Astuti explained that the victim admitted to being abused in the health room in the Sukabumi District Court on Thursday, February 20.

The incident began when VM, who was undergoing an internship at the Sukabumi District Court, suddenly fainted in front of the courtroom. He was then taken to the health room and laid on the bed.

In a half-aware condition, the victim was only accompanied by the alleged perpetrator with the initials ES. The situation in a deserted room was allegedly used by ES to commit indecent acts against the victim.

ES's actions were known by the victim after fully realizing it. VM then told his colleague what happened.

Although the alleged perpetrator admitted his actions and apologized, the victim continued this case to the realm of law by reporting ES to the Sukabumi City Police.

The police have asked for information from the victim and a number of witnesses, as well as secured evidence in the form of clothes worn by the victim at the time of the incident.

"Currently we are still developing this case and have detained the alleged perpetrator for the sake of further investigation," added Astuti.

For his actions, ES is subject to Article 6a of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 12 of 2022 concerning the Crime of Sexual Violence and/or Article 290 of the Criminal Code, with a maximum penalty of four years in prison.
