German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on Saturday (1/3) urged his country's parliament to immediately approve an additional allocation of aid of 3 billion euros (approximately US$3.1 billion or around Rp.50.5 trillion) for Ukraine, following a failed meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House.

On Friday (28/2), negotiations between Trump and Zelenskyy over a peaceful settlement in Ukraine ended fruitlessly after tensions broke out in the Oval Room, the White House.

Trump's senior officials have asked the Ukrainian delegation to leave the White House, while a joint press conference has been canceled.

Trump also canceled signing a deal on rare earth minerals with Zelenskyy.

"We must again expand Germany's support for Ukraine, and that must be done immediately. I call on all democratic parties in parliament to agree to the allocation of 3 billion euros previously blocked for Ukraine," Baerbock told reporters.

Der Spiegel reported in January that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's cabinet had blocked additional military aid packages for Ukraine, which were previously backed by Baerbock and Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
