Mataram Police, West Nusa Tenggara, implemented Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 concerning possession of sharp weapons without permission for six suspects involved in anarchist acts on Jalan Adi Sucipto, last Wednesday.

"In addition, there are also three of them who are still children (youngers) who are also suspected of violating child protection laws," said Head of the Mataram Police Satreskrim AKP Regi Halili in Mataram, NTB, Antara, Friday, February 28.

Head of the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Mataram Police Satreskrim Iptu Eko Ari Prastya added that the determination was based on the results of the case title at the investigation stage.

"In our investigation, it was revealed that each suspect had a different role," said Eko.

As per the results of the case title, six teenagers were subject to emergency laws because they were revealed to have equipped themselves with sharp weapons, such as sickles, samurai, machetes, and catalysts with arrows, in anarchist actions on the highway which resulted in the victim of a two-wheeled rider being hit by a cut in the face.

"For the other 13, they are witnesses, and have been sent home. For the six suspects, we have entrusted three children (underage) to the Special Child Correctional Institution in Central Lombok, the rest are in the Mataram Police Detention Center," he said.

With the handling of criminal acts of anarchism involving teenagers and children, Eko hopes that the community, especially parents, will be more concerned with their children's associations so that the same thing does not happen again.
