Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Fitroh Rochicahyanto said the requirements to extradite his fugitive, Paulus Tannos, were complete. The KPK is just waiting for news from Singapore.

This was conveyed by Fitroh when asked about the repatriation of Paulus Tannos who was arrested by the Singaporean authorities in January. The process has a maximum limit of 45 days since forced efforts were made.

"We have completed the conditions, we are just waiting for the results from Singapore," said Fitroh when contacted by reporters in a written statement, Monday, February 24.

"Hopefully in the near future there will be positive information," continued the former Director of Prosecution of the KPK.

Fitroh did not want to talk further about the extradition process. "Hopefully it will be accepted," he said.

Previously reported, Paulus Tannos, who is the President Director of PT Sandipala Arthapura, was finally arrested by Singaporean authorities after being on the wanted list since 2021. He was named a suspect in the corruption case in the procurement of electronic identity cards (e-KTP) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in 2019.

At that time he was named a suspect by the KPK along with three other people, namely Isnu Edhi Wijaya as the former President Director of the Indonesian National Printing Corporation (PNRI); 2014-2019 DPR RI member Miryam S Haryani; and former Head of the Information Technology Technical Team for the Application of e-KTP Husni Fahmi.

Meanwhile, Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas said documents related to Paul's extradition had been signed. It is hoped that this process will allow repatriation to be carried out immediately.

"I have also signed a letter requesting extradition in question," Supratman said during a meeting at Commission XIII of the DPR, Monday, February 17.

The repatriation of Paulus Tannos is an actual issue at the Directorate General of General Legal Administration (AHU), continued Supratman. "And thank God, yesterday, communication with all APH both to the KPK and the Attorney General's Office as well as the Police, we are all together to complete the documents so that as soon as possible (exemption, ed) can be carried out," said the Gerindra Party politician.

"And thank God, yesterday, the documents should be, God willing, as soon as possible (the completion, ed)," he continued.

While on a separate occasion, Supratman is optimistic about the extradition process. Moreover, Indonesia and Singapore have signed an agreement.

"These are two friendly countries and have signed extradition agreements. However, we only submitted a letter related to it. Later regarding the technicalities, the KPK will also handle it together with the International Relations Division of the National Police Headquarters," Supratman concluded.
