Helping Flood Victims In Bandarlampung, Lampung Police Establish Field Kitchen

JAKARTA - The large floods that hit Lampung affected thousands of residents, including Pematang Wangi Village, Bandarlampung City.

In an effort to help flood victims, the Lampung Police Mobile Brigade Unit established a field kitchen as a form of concern for the affected communities.

"In this field kitchen, we prepare ready-to-eat food and also supply clean drinking water for flood-affected residents in Pematang Wangi," said Dansat Brimob Lampung Police Kombes Pol Yustanto Mujiharso in Bandarlampung, as quoted by ANTARA.

He hopes that this field kitchen can help ease the burden on residents affected by the flood and maintain their health in the midst of this difficult situation. "After the flood, residents have difficulty getting clean water, so we help prepare clean water, including ready-to-eat food," he added.

In addition to providing field kitchens, Brimob personnel also went directly to the field to evacuate residents who were still trapped at home due to stagnant water that had not subsided. They also carry out community service to clean up the post-flood environment to help the community.

Bandarlampung City Secretary Iwan Gunawan said the city government continued to carry out post-flood handling and provide assistance to affected residents.

"The mayor has instructed the formation of a team to maximize flood management. The Bandarlampung City Government has also distributed three packs of rice to each flood victim," he said.

According to data from the Lampung Regional Police, nine sub-districts in Bandarlampung City were affected by flooding due to heavy rains that flushed the area from Friday (21/2) to Saturday (22/2).
