JAKARTA - Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mendiktisaintek) Brian Yuliarto emphasized the importance of the growth of science and technology-based industries to realize President Prabowo's ideals in bringing Indonesia parallel to developed countries and escaping from the middle income trap.
Minister Brian also emphasized that technology-based and science-based industries rely on strong human resources as well as excellent research and innovation. He expressed this in an audience with the leaders of State Universities (PTN) and Private Universities (PTS) throughout Central Java, Saturday, February 22.
"This is where the university's role in producing superior human resources and encouraging research and innovation," said Education and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto in a statement in Jakarta, Sunday.
Minister Brian also invited universities to be enthusiastic in building superior human resources through science, technology, and innovation.
"I want to hear more input and work together to advance higher education," he said.
Regarding the more effective budget allocation, Minister Brian stated that he was ready to receive input. As for PTS research funding, he plans to discuss with the industry to encourage research investment.
