JAKARTA - Indonesian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (Wamenlu) Arrmanatha Nasir urged G20 countries to take concrete action and establish collective strategies in facing increasingly complex global challenges.

"Now is the time to dare to make decisions and show a real impact," said Arrmanatha as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, February 23.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Indonesia is ready to play its role in ensuring that the G20 remains relevant and is the driving force for global change.

He encouraged the G20 to become a catalyst for change with a measurable and transparent commitment so that the agency could become an action platform, not just a discussion forum.

Moreover, said Arrmanatha Nasir, the current world needs brave leadership and firm decisions, and the G20 is considered capable of taking this role for the good of the world.

"For this reason, Indonesia views that the G20 needs a sustainable and real-impact collective strategy, given the increasingly complex dynamics of the world due to economic turmoil, climate change, and widening social inequality," he said.

Global challenges cannot be resolved with short-term solutions. We need concrete roadmaps that place human welfare, environmental protection, and mutual prosperity as a top priority," said Arrmanatha.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the importance of strengthening resilience to the global crisis, including through a stronger early warning system, investment in resilient infrastructure, and a sustainable financing mechanism for disaster-prone countries.

He also called for concrete action in strengthening the global supply chain, accelerating digital inclusion, and building a sustainable green economy.

"No country should be forced to choose between paying debts or ensuring protection for its people," he said.

Arrmanatha also called for financing mobilization to accelerate the energy transition, including through the government and private cooperation scheme.

"We must ensure that the energy transition does not deepen the global gap, but creates an inclusive growth opportunity," said the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

According to information from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in discussing the performance of the G20, a number of delegates proposed simplifying work and encouraging the G20 to be more effective and focus on high priority matters. In addition, the issue of artificial intelligence (AI), data governance (data governance), and innovation in a sustainable development context also became a concern in the meeting on Friday.
