MALUKU - Deputy Head of Maluku Regional Police, Brig. Gen. Jan de Fretes reminded the Yayasan Anak Bangsa (YAB) 11 provinces in Eastern Indonesia to ascertain the intent and purpose of Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) distributed by 6 foreign countries.

"Our nationalism has a fixed price, we shouldn't be given to them. Don't let them receive too much data regarding poverty and we are recorded as a poor country", said Deputy Police Chief Jan de Fretes, quoted by Antara, Ambon, Thursday, April 22.

This was disclosed by the Deputy Regional Police Chief Jan de Fretes when he received the Yayasan Anak Bangsa in 11 East Indonesia provincial administrators who held an audition and asked for support from the Maluku Regional Police for securing the distribution of BLT to the community.

Six countries that support the provision of BLT to the community through the Yayasan Anak Bangsa, namely Australia, Thailand, France, South Korea, the United States, and China.

"Assistance from these six countries should be properly checked because such a large assistance can't be given without any intention, so this should be checked properly", he said.

The Deputy Chief of Police also hopes that Yayasan Anak Bangsa can cooperate with the Financial Services Authority so that these activities are truly safe.

"Also cooperate with the OJK (Financial Services Authority of Indonesia) because all incoming money must be known by them", said the Deputy Chief of Police.

During the hearing, the Secretary of the Yayasan Anak Bangsa 11 province of East Indonesia, Lambert Miru, conveyed their intention to ask for assistance in securing the police for the delivery of direct cash assistance to the community.

"We have a BLT program that will be given to four categories of recipients from the community, including family heads, orphans and neglected children, disabilities who are unable to work, and unmarried elderly people", he said.

He also explained that the mechanism for assisting would be carried out after Yayasan Anak Bangsa collaborated with local governments so that the data received to assist was accurate and on target.

"Each recipient receiving direct cash assistance will receive a fund of IDR 15 million", he said.

Lambert admitted that the assistance received by his party to be handed over to people in need came from six countries, including Australia, Thailand, France, South Korea, the United States, and China.

"We ask for support and security assistance from the Maluku Regional Police in implementing our programs", asked Lambert.

Responding to the Yayasan Anak Bangsa Secretary's message, the Deputy Chief of Police admitted that technically, he would be able to coordinate with the Directorate of Community Development for the Maluku Regional Police.
