Palestinian Red Crescent Field Hospital Starts Operation In Gaza

JAKARTA - The Palestinian Red Crescent field hospital began operating in the Al-Saraya region of the Gaza Strip to treat dozens of injured and sick people Thursday.

The executive director of the association in Gaza, Haidar Al-Qudra, said dozens of injured and sick people had come in droves since Thursday morning to receive free medical treatment, quoted from WAFA February 20.

This is the first field hospital in the Palestinian enclave, providing emergency services for those injured and sick given the difficult humanitarian conditions.

Quoted from the Palestinian Red Crescent Twitter, the field hospital received dozens of patients on the first day, including three cases for mid-level operations, receiving four patients in intensive care units, and transferring two babies to neonatal incubators for special treatment.

Meanwhile, outpatient clinics are also witnessing a high number of patients, both for receiving consultations and free medical treatment, underlining the urgent need for such healthcare services in Gaza.

It said the field hospital had 54 beds, along with 10 emergency beds, including 8 intensive care beds and 6 neonatal incubators. The facility is also equipped with two operating rooms, medical laboratories, and X-ray units, making it an important addition to Gaza's health care system that is overwhelmed by war.

He added that the opening of this hospital is part of ongoing humanitarian efforts to support Gaza's slumped health care sector and provide life-saving medical services.
