Alleged Gratification Of DPD Leadership Election Process Reported To KPK

JAKARTA - The election for the DPD leadership was reported to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, Tuesday, February 18. It is suspected that there was a granting and receiving of gratuities in the process.

"We are here to convey our obligations as reporters," said advocate Azis Yanuar at the KPK's Merah Putih building, South Jakarta, Tuesday, February 18.

Meanwhile, Azis became the attorney for Muhammad Fitrat Irfan as the reporter. He said his client had provided additional evidence to the Public Complaints Report (PLPM).

He said that this report had been submitted in December 2024. One of the evidence provided is the recording of his client's conversation with political party officials.

However, Azis was reluctant to specify the figure of a politician who was complained about. "So here it's not only related to the DPD, it turns out that there are also party officials who are suspected of being involved in this," said Azis.

In his complaint, Azis revealed that the positions of chairman of the candidates are suspected of having to give US $ 5,000 to a number of people. The giving is done with door to door mode which is then deposited with the bank.

Irfan is suspected of knowing this practice because he was an expert at one of the officials in the DPD Complex, DPR, and MPR.

In the future, Azis hopes that his client's statement can reveal the alleged fraudulent practice. "Alhamdulillah, the KPK also examined him and also appreciated him," he said.

"And in the near future, God willing, we will continue this process to further examination of the parties involved," concluded Azis.
