Couple Detained For Alleged Fraud Of 91 Students And Lecturer Unihaz Bengkulu

BENGKULU - Bengkulu City Resort Police (Polresta), detained a married couple (couple) led by the CV Biru Nusantara (LBN) travel services bureau on suspicion of fraud.

The detention of the director with the initials FL and assistant Director with the initials TL was based on a report by a lecturer at the University of Hazairin (Unihaz) Bengkulu.

The couple allegedly deceived 91 students and lecturers at the Faculty of Law, Unihaz, so they failed to go on educational tours to Yogyakarta and Malang City.

"Monday (17 February), we received a complaint from Unihaz regarding the alleged fraud by the CV Lautan Biru Nusantara (LBN)," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bengkulu Police, Adjunct Commissioner of Police Sujud Alif Yulam Lam in Bengkulu City, Tuesday, February 18, confiscated by Antara.

Subjud said the alleged case had now risen to the level of investigation. Meanwhile, the couple has been questioned by the Bengkulu Police.

Based on the results of the clarification, it is known that the alleged perpetrator has handed over or deposited Rp211 million to third parties to take care of the purchase of plane tickets for the departure of Unihaz students and lecturers.

Subjud explained that as many as 91 students and lecturers had paid a total of Rp531 million to travel service agents for plane costs, bus travel costs, and lodging costs.

"The Rp211 million fee was handed over by CV LBN to third parties to take care of flight costs. That is what we are currently investigating and conducting further inspections," he said.

However, until the day of departure which was determined on Monday, February 17, the plane tickets ordered were not available so that dozens of Unihaz students and lecturers were abandoned at Fatmawati Soekarno Airport, Bengkulu.
