MEDAN - Pemko Medan emphasized that since the beginning of the launch of Kesawan City Walk, it has imposed conditions for traders and visitors to implement the COVID-19 health protocol (prokes). Operational hours are also limited to 22.00 WIB.

Head of the Medan City Residential Area and Spatial Planning Agency, Benny Iskandar, said the enforcement of the two conditions was an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

"We always remind all traders and visitors to carry out the program properly, especially using masks and keeping a distance," said Benny who is also the person in charge of Kesawan City Walk as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 21.

He emphasized this considering that the visitors had swept due to the enthusiasm of the townspeople on the night of the first week of Ramadan 1422 Hijriah on Saturday, April 17 evening.

Even officers from the Tourism Office, Satpol PP, and urban villages routinely patrol every night to ensure the implementation of prokes at the location.

Pemko Medan also provides "washbasins" at 10 points to make it easier for visitors to wash their hands with running water to anticipate the spread of the corona virus.

"We also support PPKM (Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities), especially at 15 minutes before 22.00 WIB. At that time, officers announced to traders and visitors that the operational hours of Kesawan City Walk would end soon," he continued.

"Starting Monday (19/4) night, visitors at 22.00 WIB have disbanded. We are also giving traders half an hour to pack their wares," said Benny Iskandar.
