JAKARTA - Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Minister (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding received a visit from the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) Anindya Bakrie today.
The two discussed cooperation opportunities in training and the placement of prospective Indonesian migrant workers (CPMI).
"One goal is that we want to invite Kadin to be involved in issues about Indonesian migrant workers. There are many things that the Kadin aims and goals of our ministry are the same, namely we want there to be a solution to efforts to create jobs," said Minister Karding after the meeting which took place at the KemenP2MI Office, Jakarta, Monday, February 17.
His party wants Kadin to take part in increasing CPMI's human resources (HR).
"We all know that the placement of foreign workers is now 80 percent still a domestic worker. We want Kadin to actively participate in encouraging an increase so that the placement of our workforce as well as its protection will be of higher quality," added Minister Karding.
In line with Karding, Anindya Bakrie wants the discussion of cooperation with the Ministry of P2MI to immediately feel the benefits of the Indonesian people.
"We are invited to think about it, both in terms of recruitment, training, certification, to placement. Even for socialization to the community, of course protection. We are open and really want to work together, because the benefits are felt immediately," said Anindya Bakrie.
Kadin will be present to help KemenP2MI hone CPMI skills, especially for skilled workers. Anindya Bakrie did not deny that the presence of Indonesian migrant workers was needed by other countries.

"Because Indonesian youth don't have to be afraid, Indonesia is developed by human resources, let alone being sent abroad, it's no longer just domestic workers, like the Minister has said earlier, but also skilled workers, who even in European countries, if they get visas, can be faster, because they are needed, for example in the field of health services, and also restaurant services, cruise, tourism," he said.
