Still Being Studied, The Policy For Restricting The Residential Period Of Rusunawa Is Finalized In Mid-2025

Currently, the DKI DPRKP and other regional work units (SKPD) are still finalizing a study on limiting the rental time of flats, both in the category of general and programmed residents.

This policy will later be contained in the revision of Governor Regulation Number 111 of 2014 concerning the Mechanism of Rusunawa Occupancy.

"Regarding this proposal, it is still under discussion between regional sets whose finalization is expected to be completed in the middle of the 2025 fiscal year," said Kelik on Monday, February 17.

Kelik explained that the proposed restriction of rusunawa housing aims to provide opportunities for the people of Jakarta to live in the same place as residents who have been in the Rusunawa for a long time and enjoy subsidies for residential units.

Bearing in mind, until now the DKI Provincial Government has not been able to meet the residential needs of all Jakarta residents. As of 2021, the number of houses available with the required housing (backlog) reached 1.8 million.

"Harapannya dengan pembatasan tersebut para penghuni yang saat ini bertempat tinggal di Rusunawa lebih termotivasi untuk berkarier dalam perumahan, sehingga mampu untuk naik kelas dengan memiliki unit huniannya sendiri," jelas Kelik.
