BMKG Forecasts Jakarta; Semarang To Makassar Rainy Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most areas in Indonesia today have the potential to experience rain with varying intensity, ranging from light rain to rain accompanied by lightning.

BMKG forecaster Apdillah in the weather forecast video monitored through the BMKG YouTube channel in Jakarta, Sunday, February 16, said that light rain is expected to occur in several major cities, such as Medan, North Sumatra; Padang, West Sumatra; Pekanbaru, Riau; Jambi; Palembang, South Sumatra; and Bandarlampung.

"Next, light rain also has the potential to occur in Serang, Banten; Jakarta; Semarang, Central Java; Yogyakarta; Surabaya, East Java; Denpasar, Bali; Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan; Samarinda, East Kalimantan; Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan; Manado, North Sulawesi; Gorontalo, Gorontalo; Palu, Central Sulawesi; Mamuju, West Sulawesi; Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi; and Makassar, South Sulawesi," he said, confiscated by Antara.

There are also Ambon, Maluku; Sorong, Southwest Papua; Manokwari, West Papua; Jayawijaya, Central Papua; Jayapura, Papua; and Merauke, South Papua.

Next, rain with moderate intensity is predicted to occur in Bengkulu; and Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara; as well as in several areas in Eastern Indonesia, such as Ternate, North Maluku; Nabire, Central Papua.

Meanwhile, several other areas are predicted to experience rain accompanied by lightning, such as Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung Islands; Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan; and Bandung, West Java.

Not only rain, there are also thick cloudy weather conditions that have the potential to occur in Banda Aceh, Aceh; Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands; Pontianak, West Kalimantan; and Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara.
