Most Of Indonesia's Big Cities Are Rained Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that generally the weather in big cities in Indonesia on Wednesday, February 12 has the potential to be cloudy and partly rainy.

"In Java, it is generally thick cloudy, such as in Serang, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. Meanwhile, Bandung and Semarang have the potential for light rain," said BMKG forecaster Sekar Anggraeni, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 12.

As for the Sumatra region, thick clouds have the potential to blanket a number of areas, such as Aceh, Padang, Tanjung Pinang, Bengkulu, and Jambi.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain has the potential to occur in Medan, Palembang, Pangkal Pinang, and Bandarlampung.

"In the Denpasar and Mataram areas, heavy rains are predicted. Kupang is expected to have light rain," he said.

Furthermore, he said, in Kalimantan, the areas covered by thick clouds, namely Pontianak and Banjarmasin. Meanwhile Samarinda and Palangka Raya have the potential for light rain. As for Tanjung Selor, there is the potential for heavy rain.

Moving to the Sulawesi area, he continued, the Makassar, Mamuju, and Kendari areas have the potential for light rain. Meanwhile, Palu, Gorontalo, and Manado are forecasted to be thick cloudy.

In Eastern Indonesia, he said, light to moderate rain is predicted in general, such as in Nabire, Sorong, Ternate, Manokwari, Jayapura, and Jayawijaya. Meanwhile, Merauke has the potential for heavy rain and thick cloudy Ambon.
