HPN 2025, Bogor City DPRD: Make The Eye And Ear Of The Community

BOGOR - The leadership of the Bogor City DPRD consisting of Deputy Chair I, M. Rusli Prihatevy together with Deputy Chair III, Dadang Iskandar Danubrata, and followed by members of the Bogor City DPRD, Akhmad Saeful Bakhri, Safrudin Bima, Zakiyatul Fikriyah Al Aslamiyah, and Desy Yanthi Utami, celebrate National Press Day (HPN) 2025 and Anniversary (HUT) 79 of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) at the Bogor City PWI Mako, Sunday 9 February.

The presence of these legislators is a form of synergy and support for the performance of Bogor City press personnel who continue to report events, educate the public, and become strategic partners of the Bogor City Government.

In the event which was held in a simple but family sense, Deputy Chairperson I of the Bogor City DPRD, M. Rusli Prihatevy, said that in the midst of a strong flow of information, journalists became accurate filterers and deliverers of news.

They are not just news spreaders, but also power supervisors. In a world where information can be manipulated, journalists maintain public trust by conveying facts and digging the truth behind a story. They are the eyes and ears of the public, bringing people's voices to decision makers," said Rusli.

However, Rusli reminded that as a journalist, ethical responsibility must be held firmly. In every article, members of the press must uphold integrity and are not influenced by other interests.

With the various challenges faced, such as fake news and pressure from various parties, members of the press still need to be committed to conveying the truth.

Press personnel must dare to reveal things that are not revealed, speak things that are not spoken, and protect the rights of each individual to get correct and clear information.

"Therefore, let's support journalists as pillars of democracy. Hopefully, PWI Bogor City will also be able to become a comfortable home for journalists, so that journalistic products that are issued are of high quality and able to educate the public," he concluded.
