President Trump Says He Prefers To Make A Deal With Iran Instead Of Bombing

JAKARTA - United States President Donald Trump said he had made more deals with Iran than to carry out an all-out bombing, adding Israel would not carry out attacks if there was an agreement.

"I want an agreement with Iran on non-nuclear. I'd rather that than bomb it all out," he told New York Post quoted from The Times of Israel February 9.

"They don't want to die. Nobody wants to die," he said.

"If we make a deal, Israel will not bomb them," Trump said.

The US president said he would not discuss plans for negotiations with Tehran.

"On the one hand, I don't like telling you what I'm going to tell them. You know, it's not good," he said.

"I can tell them what to say, and I hope they decide they won't do what they're currently thinking about doing. And I think they'll be very happy," he said.

Last week, President Trump denied plans by the United States and Israel to carry out a military offensive against Iran, instead saying he wanted to make a new nuclear deal with Tehran. However, the construction of the potential pact must begin immediately.

Iran responded by ready to give the United States the opportunity to resolve disputes between the two countries.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian responded to President Trump's statement saying it was not difficult to verify Iran's nuclear.

"Verifying (our nuclear program) is an easy task, they have come and verified whenever they want to and they can come to verify one hundred more times," President Pezeshkian told Reuters.

On Friday, JAKARTA - Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said negotiating with the United States Government was an unwise act, reflecting on past experiences.

"Netching with America won't solve any problems. Proof? Experience (past)!" said Ayatollah Khamenei Friday, reported IRNA.

Khamenei referred to Iran's past experiences in negotiating and making deals with the United States and other governments in the 2010s, saying although Iran offered a large concession to other parties under the agreement, the US reneged on its obligations.

"America did not comply with the agreement. People who are now in office (in the United States) have broken the agreement," he said.

"The agreement was intended to lift American sanctions. The sanctions were not lifted! American sanctions were not lifted," he said.

That is, continued Ayatollah Khamenei, Iran's experience.

"A person should not negotiate with the government like this; negotiating (with him) is unwise, not intelligent, not honorable," said Khamenei.
